Style Guide
For a client, I created a style guide who wanted to strengthen their brand. To start, I conducted research to gain an understanding of the target audience and the values that the brand wanted to convey. Based on this information, I created a visual identity that aligned with the brand's values and would appeal to their audience.
I carefully chose colors, typography, and other design elements that would remain consistent across all platforms and mediums. I also prioritized the user experience and ensured that the design was functional and easy to use, while still being visually appealing.
The end result was a comprehensive style guide that outlines all the visual and design elements for the brand, providing a consistent and cohesive look and feel that reinforces the brand's identity and messaging.
Colors
I create colors with accessibility in mind when developing a style guide for a client. To do this, I carefully considered the color contrast between the text and the background, as well as the colors used for other design elements like buttons and icons. I made sure that the colors I chose met the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) for contrast ratio and were easily distinguishable for individuals with visual impairments. This involved taking into account factors like color blindness and low vision. By prioritizing accessibility in my color choices, I ensured that the brand's visual identity was not only aesthetically pleasing but also inclusive to all users. The resulting style guide provided a set of colors that were both on-brand and accessible to a wide range of users.
Typography
I created typography for multiple devices in a style guide for a client by considering readability and consistency across different screen sizes and resolutions. I chose a font family that was legible and suitable for the brand's voice and image. Additionally, I made sure to select font sizes, line heights, and spacing that would be optimal for both desktop and mobile devices. I also accounted for any potential differences in rendering across different operating systems and web browsers. By creating a typography system that was consistent and functional across multiple devices, I ensured that the brand's messaging was delivered effectively and efficiently to all users. The resulting style guide provided clear guidelines for the use of typography in all digital platforms and mediums.
Actions
I created actions in a style guide for a client by identifying common interactions across all platforms and defining a set of consistent action design patterns. I did this by selecting buttons, icons, and other interactive elements that are commonly used in digital interfaces. I made sure that each action was clearly defined with appropriate labeling and feedback, so users could easily understand what each action does and how to use it. Additionally, I followed best practices for usability and accessibility, such as making sure actions were visible and easily distinguishable. The resulting style guide provided clear guidelines for the use of actions across all digital platforms, ensuring that the brand's interactive elements were not only visually appealing but also intuitive and functional for all users.
